Sun Valley, ID Tourism

Sun Valley is known for skiing but they wanted to be a tourist destination in the summer too. So Instead of using the (small) summer budget on banners and Facebook ads, we proposed an earned media idea. Specifically, a robot that would let people skip stones on a lake in Sun Valley from their computers, in real time, and watch the whole thing live. After setting the release angle and adjusting the power, people could watch their skip in real time, then get playback to share.. 

When skippy made the front page of Reddit things went a bit bananas. But the best part was people spending something like 5 minutes on average staring at live video feed of a lake and some mountains in Sun Valley in the summertime. And getting a good idea what it's like to be there. Which was the whole point.
